Blog Conventions
So there are a few things to know about this blog. Here's a list of what they are and how they work:
- Coral CDN. I hate it when links don't work, and in the blogosphere, that's constantly. Especially when I've found the perfect solution to my problem (which, hopefully, is what you'll find here), there's nothing more annoying than missing supporting documents that kill it. Therefore, whenever there's a specific link on this blog, say, a key post on a different blog, I'll link to both the original and the Coral cache, in a format such as this (coral). More info on the Coral CDN here: http://www.coralcdn.org/
- Vital Stats. At the beginning of any post related to iPhone development where the environment that I'm working in matters (for example, when discussing a new release, jailbreaking method, what have you) I'll include a "Vital Stats" block at the top of the post that looks like this:
Vital iPhone stats for this post:
iPhone OS version: 2.2
Jailbreak status: Jailbroken using Pwnage Tool 2.2, old baseband preserved.
It will also include any other important information pertaining to the post. - Citations at the bottom of the post. Let's face it: on the internet, nobody pays attention to intellectual property, and certainly not the written work of other bloggers. Now, I think that's kind of lame, but that's not why I will be citing things at the end of my posts. Mostly, it's because the nature of technical writing is that things change super duper fast. Having all the potential sources on hand of information you need is vital. When my post is broken or incorrect, you will be able to look at the places I got my info in order to see if something's been updated that I've not caught.
That's about it for now, but I'll update this page with any new conventions and how they work.
